If the pamphlet is reprinted in Hongkong we recommend that a

brief section be added giving the evidence of the effect of remg-

nised bro thels on the incidence of venereal disease.

It is recommended that a simple leaflet should be pm duced in

Chinese giving information about, and conditions leading to the

spread of, venereal disease, and circulated as above.

PARTICULAR GROUPS.

(1) patora, We re on mend that information as i the fraili-

ties offered with reference to free diagnosis should be issued,

together with information as to postgraduate courses, and circulat-

ed to all duly qualified medical practitioners.

(2) Nursea. We recommend that the hospitals should be make d

to include in their training for nurses adequate instruatien in

venereal disease.

(3) Midwiven. We understand that midwives are trained and

registered under the Health Department. Bight midwives are maintain

-ed in the various districts at the expense of the Health Departmen

We believe that more might be done to link up the medical pract

-titioner with the midwife, especially in order to prevent

mia neona to run.

Opthal-

The fact that in one district one Government midwife has only

taken one dase in the year seems to show that public health pro pag-

anda is urgently needed.

(4) Parents and teachers. une of the strongest preventive

agencies in the campaign against venereal disease is to secure olen

teaching on the facts of life and sex to the rising"

generation.
